Saturday, Let’s Meditate at Morpho Bleu

Hi, Reader —

September is here! Back to routine, back to reality. And if you’re like me? Back to some elevated energy, already! Here we are on the 3rd, and it already feels like a lot, doesn’t it?

Liam is off to BC for hockey. Kobe is back to school. I’m trying to get the Morpho Bleu schedule sorted out, and organize my meditations for The Imprint, which starts soon – and the Jewish holidays are a week away.

C’mon, September, really?

How do you move through any period of stress?

For me, I return to my meditation, to my cushion and tall seat, to mantra, mudra, music and my mind.

And that’s what we’re up to this Saturday at 10h30, in person here in Montreal at Morpho Bleu.

Let’s Meditate is a glimpse into the style of meditation we practice in The Imprint.

What if meditation wasn’t always about getting silent? My kind of meditation does NOT require stillness and a perfectly “quiet mind.” In fact, we use these elements of the practice – mantra, mudra, music – to steady ourselves and provide focus.

So if you’ve found your mind to be especially buzzy this week, these techniques offer your mind a tool to find your centre, and from there, we can go deeper into the meditation.

If you’re new to meditation – this is for you! And if you already love my style of practice, come along anyway. We’ll have a blast!

The focus this weekend is on sound: chanting, voice, mantra.

Come explore why chanting has been used as a meditation practice for thousands of years, and experiment with the extraordinary instrument that is your voice. When you chant, you are both player and listener – with your mind mediating the duo – and you’re tapping into frequencies that do tremendous things to our brains.

Curious? Hop in – some spots are still available. I’d love to have you live in the room with me.

If you can’t join me on Saturday, I’ll have a recording available through my membership and through Morpho Bleu after class.

Or, you can jump straight into The Imprint for Fall. Let’s Meditate is really a little taste of the style of practice we use there – but you don’t need the preview to begin.

Each season, I design a special set of meditations made for this time of year.

Living seasonally is about following nature – think about the intelligence of trees. To survive the winter, they shed their fruit and leaves. They pare down, choosing how best to conserve their energy.

Autumn is about that discernment. What can we leave behind, and what comes with us into the next season – and how do we know what choices to make?

The Imprint readies your mind to meet the moment.

We begin September 14, live at 06h00 EDT or recorded.

Join me! I hope to see you this weekend, though!

Hi, Reader — Happy equinox! 🍂 I hope some of you were able to join us at Morpho Bleu for our fall market and classes. What a beautiful, full few days. These transitional moments are always packed with energy, and it felt like such a good way to channel some of it together. Fall always brings a little reflection and nostalgia with it, after the presence and spontaneity of summer. And here we are at the start of the season, with a bite in the morning air and the leaves just beginning to turn....

Hi, Reader — Here we are: The Imprint begins tomorrow! Already? September has a way of zipping by! With this week’s New Moon, we’ve been talking about the effects of Virgo season – it’s about getting back to practical business. And yes, that means it’s time for The Imprint. We’re heading toward the seasonal turn, here we go! For five mornings this coming week, from September 14 to 18, we’re gathering for The Imprint: Fall, and our practice is centred around ancestral karma: the patterns,...

Hi, Reader — I hope your long weekend was sweet, and that you spent some time soaking in this beautiful weather and the last bits of summer. Yes, yes, I know – the fall equinox isn’t for another couple of weeks, and the lived end of summer comes now, don’t you think? So many of us return to routine, that natural shift in rhythm that happens this time of year, whether we’re ready or not! It can be a busy time! Which makes it such an ideal time to find your footing – find that anchor – with a...
