Two special practices this week 🦁🔮💫

Hi, Reader —

August is cottage time for me! My family’s annual bubble. A slower time by the lake, with bonfires, Ry, Kobe and Liam, and neighbours – and the particular rhythm that only late summer drums. No wonder it’s an entire separate season in Traditional Chinese Medicine!

(I’m also headed to New York for a very quick weekend trip, which I’m really looking forward to!)

For me, though, August has always been a month for leaning into family before September begins and everything goes back to “normal” (whatever that means!) – before the school year, the schedules, the once-again-full calendars, the feeling of re-starting that fall always brings.

So, I am paying attention to this threshold: the part of summer that is still here, and the part of the year that is juuusssst starting to turn, as the start of August marks the cross-quarter point of summer.

Pagan traditions celebrated such mid-point days, when the veil between worlds was thin – this day celebrating first harvest. Even more ancient traditions marked the “dog days” approximately 40 days after the summer solstice, when Sirius, the dog star, could be seen rising with the sun. This lore became the basis for Lion’s Gate within numerological spirituality circles – midway through Leo season – and the numerology of the date was too good! A powerful number, 8 is infinitite life force, and double-8 amplifies this potential.

This one feels big! The portal is widest on August 8, and I’m offering two special practices this week. I hope you can join me!

On Thursday, August 6 at 6:30pm EDT, we’ll gather for our Leo New Moon practice – meditation, journalling, and preparation for the solar eclipse moment. Remember, eclipse energy is felt even when not fully seen! In Montreal, we can see a partial eclipse next week, but the astrology is in full force! Bonus: the Perseids meteor shower the same night as the new moon!

And on Saturday, August 8 at 10:30am EDT, we’ll gather online again for a special Lion’s Gate practice. We’ll revisit the summer meditations from The Imprint, work with this portal of light and receiving, and let the body become a place where the next chapter can begin to take shape.

This Thursday’s Lunar Magic for the Leo new moon and partial solar eclipse brings us back to the heart, asking where we are ready to live with more courage, creativity, and honesty. It asks where we have been waiting for permission to be fully ourselves.

It’s also about more than just being seen. We look hard at our people-pleasing tendencies: the ways we perform, try to earn love, and shape our expression around applause, approval, or being understood. Underneath aaalll that, there is a truer radiance we can access. The kind that has nothing to prove. Leo gives us permission to tap into that fearlessness and agency.

Then, Lion’s Gate brings another layer. It is a portal of receiving, remembrance, and possibility. A time to sit with the Sun, the heart, and the patterns we are ready to loosen. We are invited to become available to what is arriving. What are you ready to choose differently? What part of you is asking to come forward now?

I hope you can join me for this special set of practices! I’ve bundled both with a small discount, but you can also join one or the other – go wherever you feel called. Replays will be sent to everyone who registers, for each class with a 15-day access in my hub.

It’s really a great moment to harness this energy and embrace the spirit of transformation that it brings! I would love to meet you there.

So much love,
Sara

Hi, Reader — Happy Virgo season! It’s my Sun sign, so I love this time of year!! Virgo is methodical and pragmatic, and I already feel its influence over me. I’ve been getting the details in order for my fall travel, and looking ahead to 2027, organizing what’s to come and settling back into studio life. Maybe you saw my retreats email! Virgo in action. This weekend has been so fun – did you come say hi at the Imagine Monkland festival in NDG? What true joy to connect with people and see so...

Hey there, Reader — I’ve got that late summer feeling – how ’bout you? Can I even put my finger on what it is? Camp is over for Kobe, but school hasn’t started yet. It’s the in-between of the in-between. Summer has always felt like a pattern interruptor to me, when our usual routines take a backseat and the days stretch differently. And yet, in this mid-August moment, it’s the everyday that feels especially sacred – a day by the lake, simple pleasures, eating something perfectly in season. My...

Hi, Reader — It feels good to be home in July! Back in regular rhythms, practices and teachings. Back in the studio and the everyday life that holds me. As you may know if you’ve been around these parts a while, I’ve been paying closer attention to my summer energy in recent years, and really taking care not to burn myself out. July can carry so much action and passion, and I can feel how much my body has been asking for rest. Especially after travel! So I’ve been returning to The Imprint...
