What happens when we chant OM? 🌀

Hi, Reader —

I hope your long weekend was sweet, and that you spent some time soaking in this beautiful weather and the last bits of summer.

Yes, yes, I know – the fall equinox isn’t for another couple of weeks, and the lived end of summer comes now, don’t you think? So many of us return to routine, that natural shift in rhythm that happens this time of year, whether we’re ready or not! It can be a busy time!

Which makes it such an ideal time to find your footing – find that anchor – with a meditation practice.

On Saturday, we gathered at Morpho Bleu for Let’s Meditate, and it was such a sweet morning. We explored the power of sound and our own voice as tools for meditation.

If you’ve ever wondered why we sometimes chant OM in a yoga class, we took time to explore what happens when we work with sounds like OM and other mantras, alongside the simplicity of our breath.

If you missed it and you’re curious, you can still watch the replay!

I also made a little booklet to go with it, with the mantras and some of what we explored together:

And, of course, the music:

One of the things that came up on Saturday was how often the challenge with meditation isn’t actually knowing what to do. It’s returning to it.

How do we remove some of the obstacles and make it easier to simply begin again?

That’s a big part of why I created The Imprint, and our fall practice begins Monday, September 14.

If Let’s Meditate gives you a taste of the practice, The Imprint gives you a way to go deeper. For five days, you don’t have to decide what meditation to do or figure out how to fit it all together. You simply start, I guide you every step of the way, and we begin to create some consistency – in community.

Because that’s where the practice begins to become a habit – not because you suddenly have more willpower, but because you’ve made it easier to come back.

Whether you join me Monday or spend some time with this replay, I hope you find a little space to listen and notice what you need as we move toward fall.

So much love,
Sara

PS: Want to try my meditation live and online first, before committing? Come along with me for the Virgo New Moon this Thursday at 18h30. We’ll explore more meditation, plus some journaling and space to reset as we find our September rhythm.

Hi, Reader — Happy equinox! 🍂 I hope some of you were able to join us at Morpho Bleu for our fall market and classes. What a beautiful, full few days. These transitional moments are always packed with energy, and it felt like such a good way to channel some of it together. Fall always brings a little reflection and nostalgia with it, after the presence and spontaneity of summer. And here we are at the start of the season, with a bite in the morning air and the leaves just beginning to turn....

Hi, Reader — Here we are: The Imprint begins tomorrow! Already? September has a way of zipping by! With this week’s New Moon, we’ve been talking about the effects of Virgo season – it’s about getting back to practical business. And yes, that means it’s time for The Imprint. We’re heading toward the seasonal turn, here we go! For five mornings this coming week, from September 14 to 18, we’re gathering for The Imprint: Fall, and our practice is centred around ancestral karma: the patterns,...

Hi, Reader — September is here! Back to routine, back to reality. And if you’re like me? Back to some elevated energy, already! Here we are on the 3rd, and it already feels like a lot, doesn’t it? Liam is off to BC for hockey. Kobe is back to school. I’m trying to get the Morpho Bleu schedule sorted out, and organize my meditations for The Imprint, which starts soon – and the Jewish holidays are a week away. C’mon, September, really? How do you move through any period of stress? For me, I...
