Full Moon practice this Thursday 🌕

Hi, Reader —

It feels good to be home in July! Back in regular rhythms, practices and teachings. Back in the studio and the everyday life that holds me.

As you may know if you’ve been around these parts a while, I’ve been paying closer attention to my summer energy in recent years, and really taking care not to burn myself out. July can carry so much action and passion, and I can feel how much my body has been asking for rest. Especially after travel!

So I’ve been returning to The Imprint meditations in the morning. Stirring the waters, sipping some air, and coming back into relationship with my own energy. The balance is real!

That feels like the doorway into this Aquarius Full Moon.

Coming out of Cancer season, many of us have felt an inward pull toward home, body and care – in particular with these retrogrades! This moment has felt like a chance to listen to what has come up this season, and what you want to carry with you.

As we enter Leo, the heart comes forward. Fire, expression and a desire to live honestly and be seen in that. This Aquarius Full Moon brings the question of belonging: How do I stay true to myself, while remaining in community?

This is where practice gets interesting! We can notice where we perform, where we shrink, where we shape ourselves around approval or comparison. The Aquarius moon reminds us that our individuality is part of what we give. The more honestly we are ourselves, the more clearly we can offer our gifts.

This Full Moon also brings an air sign, which feels important after the water of Cancer and the fire of Leo. Air helps circulate what has been stirred up. It gives the body a way to process what the mind may still be trying to understand.

Like all Full Moon practices, we move! In practice, we circulate using breath, movement, and attention. We move so the heart has more room. We breathe so the old stories can loosen. We make mental space for what is ready to arrive.

So, roll out your mat and make some room!

Join me live on Zoom this Thursday, July 23 at 18h30 EDT. Replay, of course, with lots of time to catch it before the actual full moon peaks next week.

Hope we can practice together!

I love you – keep going,
Sara

Hi, Reader — I am home. After a rich and beautiful stretch of travel through Europe in France and Spain, I am back in Montreal, back to the studio, and back to daily life. Travel is such a gift. It takes us out of our patterns and reminds us that the world is wider than we usually think. Our routines and habits give us important structure. They can also keep our world small. There are other rhythms, other ways to move through a day, other ways to belong to time. We must make room for those...

Hi, Reader — I’m back from Lac Brome, and landing here – for just a minute – before leaving for France with Kimiko! That’s why I offered The Imprint a week early this season, rather than trying to battle time zones and come on live with you next week. And as always, the timing feels perfect in its own way. This summer’s Imprint shares some beautiful themes with the upcoming Gemini new moon. Inside The Imprint, we are working with a meditation I affectionately call the Chicken Dance 🐔 – ahaha...

Hi, Reader — I know. It’s early. If you saw 6am and immediately thought, “Sara, no!” – I really do understand! Mind you, I’m just headed back from Lac Brome – an amazing weekend with a group of beautiful women – and we practiced early Saturday and Sunday. It was eased along by the feeling of community, and the wonderful early light we have this time of year. (Not to mention the fairy tale setting in an ancient forest!) I’ve continued to offer a live morning practice for years because there’s...
