The first new moon of 2026 🌑

Hi, Reader —

I’m writing to you from Costa Rica, where I’m currently holding The Portal Retreat with Astro Auntie. We’re across the world from home, but our phones already know the wifi password. Even from here, routine is important – my days are shaped by practice and presence. And I still make time for making Lunar Magic. The rhythm of nature stays with me wherever I am.

This week brings us the first new moon Lunar Magic of 2026. While we began the year together on January 1 with a full moon practice, the new moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle, and the full moon its peak. It just so happens that, astrologically, the full moon arrived first this season. Now we return to the quieter threshold – the place of seeds, intention, and orientation.

This Capricorn New Moon arrives with a quiet, steady invitation: to build something that lasts. Capricorn reminds us that meaningful change doesn’t come from grand gestures, but from small, consistent choices made with care. This first new moon of the year is a moment to listen closely, set down a few well-chosen intentions, and begin shaping the pacing and practices that will support you as the year unfolds – one grounded step at a time.

A brief reminder of the Lunar Magic plan, especially for those newer to the practice:

🌘 At the new moon, I offer an accessible, free, hour-long practice of meditation and mantra, with journaling and space for reflection and sharing.

🌝 At the full moon, we gather for a longer, 90-minute, workshop-style practice – moving, breathing, and working more deeply with the themes at the lunar peak, priced accordingly.

Some important notes as we move into 2026:

Lunar Magic now meets on Thursdays at 18h30 EDT, rather than Wednesdays. We’ll gather on the Thursday before each new or full moon, every couple of weeks.

While this was a pragmatic, real-life decision for me, there’s also something serendipitous about this shift. Thursday is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of wisdom, generosity, and expansion – a beautiful ally for teaching, sharing, and reaching outward. When I align my practices with these currents, my work becomes even more spacious and generous, and that impact ripples out to you, naturally.

You can view the full 2026 Lunar Magic Thursday practice schedule, and even add it to your own calendar here:

Lots of little shifts so far this year – and a few more still coming.

To sign up for Lunar Magic, I’m now using Eventbrite (again) – let me know what you think.

And, if you are already on my membership platform, it’s truly so easy! Just log in, and navigate to the Lunar Magic page. The zoom link will appear 24h before our session, and I’ll send you a reminder email. You can also RSVP and discuss practice in our community area. Want to hop on? Try 3 months with no commitment.

I can’t wait to practice together on Thursday, wherever you’re joining from, as we step into this new lunar cycle.

Lots of love,
Sara

Hi, Reader — You’ve heard me mention that 2026 is a Year of 10. Here’s what I mean by that, and why I find it useful – and kind of fun! – to examine the year this way, as we stand at its doorway, and as my annual “Year of” workshop happens tomorrow evening! This concept comes from numerology, a symbolic way of working with time that treats years as part of a repeating cycle or spiral, rather than a straight line. (Need more scroll holeshere? Hi, Reader — How has your winter break been treating you? If you get a break, that is! I hope you’re finding some moments to yourself. This time of year is meant to slow us down – though when does anything ever move in only one direction? In my world lately, it’s been a mix of busy and spacious: family commitments, popping into the studio, getting ready for my upcoming trip, alongside long walks, quieter evenings, and smaller gatherings. A blend that feels pretty true to how life actually...

Hi, Reader — Quick check-in first: did you miss joining The Imprint? You can still hop in! If you’ve been meaning to choose a steadier rhythm for yourself this winter, consider this your reminder – you’re not late, you’re arriving when you’re ready. Now, for this week’s Lunar Magic: we’ll gather Wednesday evening at 19h00 EDT to practice together in alignment with the Sagittarius New Moon. The moon resets on the 19th, making this a supportive moment to pause and check in. → Join Lunar Magic...
